W.H. Morley and sons is another company where information is not readily available. W. H. Morley & Sons were in business from 1913 - 1927 in Germany. They used a “four leaf clover” to mark all of their products. Judging by the way this razor shaves they knew what they were doing from the word go, very nice indeed. This puts this razor at around 100 years old; its age, relatively short period that it was available (scarcity), the magnetic blade and the fine shave it delivers makes this a very cool piece to own, ready to serve at least 100 years more!
Let us know how it shaves and also if you come across some useful information on this company and the wares they produced.
This razor weighs 38 grams, the blade is 11/17 ths, or around 17 mm high, and has a cutting edge of around 67 mm. It is in a nice condition and honed up quickly and effortlessly. We added a bit of a gun-metally shine to make the relative unused blade pop a bit more when matched with the ivory celluloid scales. The razor opens, closes and centers nice and smoothly.
*Vintage razors are priced according to model and availability, time spent cleaning and reconditioning and time/level of honing. Please enquire if you need additional work done to this razor prior to purchase. All straight razors will require a stropping on a leather strop before every use. Pics are unedited (detail) and provide a true image of the condition of the razor.
