The weird one. This razor has a quirky side to it; the maker installed a resting pin for the blade, but the placing was such that the end of the tang hits the pin when opening up, thus preventing the razor to fold open to the 270 degree position one normally use when shaving. My first thought was that it is s design flaw from a newby razor maker, but then I used it and the handle was quite handy when shaving the neck area from the bottom up, just gripping the razor by its handle and using the pin as stop to keep the blade solid and sturdy, so I figured it could have been created for this purpose. We'll keep it as is for now, after all the pin is very easy to remove should the new owner want to do so.
I did not want to sharpen this razor initially because the steel has a very shiny look to it, similar to some cheaper razors that are of poor quality, but it actually sharpened quickly and easily withhout the steel chipping away at the apex as one would see from untreated steel. The razor did a little run up on the one side of the bevel, but it sharpens easily on the stones with no special honing techniques using one layer of tape. It's quite a shiny flashy razor if that is something that tickles your fancy. The shaving position was a bit awkward, but I managed to get a good result from the blade, it was much like learning to shave again, quite a bit of fun figuring out 'what goes where'
The blade sits tight and centers nicely in what seems to be green perspex scales and it is shave ready. The razor weighs 52 grams and has an /8 blade size. The bevel angle is around 14.3 degrees.
