Another mystery razor, distribution was by the ET Scott Co from Norfolk, Virginia. The steel is from Germany and was more than likely branded for the company who ordered them. It has 'Scott's best' stamped in the tang. The story of vintage steel is that it is good, so as a minimum requirement you are good to go with any mystery vintage we list, the value lies in this and any new info on the maker or the scarcity of the razor is a bonus.

The razor is nice and clean and in good original vintage condition. The razor weighs 35 grams, the blade height is 5/8 ths, or around 16 mm high, it has a cutting edge of 65 mm, with a square point. This half hollow razor has been made shave ready. The bevel on the razor is clean and even and it has some spine wear at the point end of the blade, the wear has been sanded to remove sharp edges and is not unsightly, we used one layer of tape on the spine when we sharpened it up. The razor has a spine thickness of 4.5 mm and presents a sharpened cutting angle of 16 degrees.

The razor is nice and clean, the scales, pinning and steel all looks great and works as it should, it delivered a great shave and there is more than likely that it would make the new owner very happy when its services are employed to demolish stubble.

*Vintage razors are priced according to model and availability, time spent cleaning and reconditioning and time/level of honing. Please enquire if you need additional work done to this razor prior to purchase. All straight razors will require a stropping on a leather strop before every use. Pics are unedited (detail) and provide a true image of the condition of the razor.
