T. Hessenbruch & Co. was a trading firm that operated in Pennsylvania, USA between 1873-1926. They had razors produced and imported in Germany for their own patent name. Hessenbruch razors are high quality and popular razors.
This is such a cool razor with no less than three bears splashed all over the scales and steel, it is a clean razor with original steel, scales and pinning, and has a few light marks on the blade that should buff out easy enough, as there is no pitting beyond the smudges. The razor is a 6/8 ths blade in a pretty conventional shape, very popular for a good reason. The razor delivered a very nice shave, I really enjoyed this one, as it gave a very close single pass shave with the grain, the half hollow grind gave more feedback than I anticipated, and you will enjoy it if you dig a moderately 'noisy shave'
*Vintage razors are priced according to model and availability, time spent cleaning and reconditioning them, and also time spent getting the edge into a shave ready condition (some are preserved as is, or sold as is for the new owner to sharpen) Please enquire if you need additional work done to this razor prior to purchase. All straight razors will require a stropping on a leather strop before every use. Pics are unedited (detail) and provide a true image of the condition of the razor.
This razor is shave ready and can be used as is without stropping it, stropping should be executed after first use.
