The John Pritzlaff Hardware Company was the largest hardware company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, founded in 1850 and closed their doors in 1958. John Pritzlaff was an immigrant from Pomeranie, Prussia who came to Milwaukee in 1841, before Wisconsin was a state. In 1850 he, August Suelflohn, and Henry Nazro opened a small hardware store on Third Street called John Pritzlaff and Company.

I could not find any reviews on this makers razors, but I really enjoyed testing this one. The razor is another one of those that looks very uniquely vintage in that it may have been altered/repaired a long time ago, the scales and pinning is not typical of razors I have seen. It is a very sturdy razor with great action on the scales. The blade has a square point, and has a working edge of 70 mm long. The blade height is 5/8 with a spine thickness of 4 mm delivering a working angle of around 13.5 degrees on the steely gun blue 3/4 hollow grind blade. The cutter weighs 52 gams and has a great looking bevel, the etching is pretty deep and will last for years to come. a Very unique vintage razor that shaves very comfortably, I doubt it will dissapoint its new owner.

The razor comes with the original coffin in good shape.

*Vintage razors are priced according to model and availability, time spent cleaning and reconditioning them, and also time spent getting the edge into a shave ready condition (some are preserved as is, or sold as is for the new owner to sharpen) Please enquire if you need additional work done to this razor prior to purchase. All straight razors will require a stropping on a leather strop before every use. Pics are unedited (detail) and provide a true image of the condition of the razor.

This razor is shave ready and can be used as is without stropping it, stropping should be executed after first use.
