This brush is made from the horn of the Kudu, so fresh, it is still oozing with 'blood'! Well..not really it is resin and inner horn bone that is used, this stuff is HARD, it is harder than any wood I have worked with and very heavy at that, the inner section of the horn has a less dense structure with cavities and tunnels that allows for the traversing of blood, oxygen, minerals and other organic matter for the continuous development of the horn over the Kudu's lifespan, we fill these voids with resin, making the brush slightly lighter than solid, high density horn, but is still heavier than most natural materials out there. This brush has a bloody red resin core which has been vucuumed to fill the finer voids and cracks in the horn, giving it a marble like appearance.
The brush weighs 134 grams, and stands 112 mm tall. with a loft set at 55 mm. The body has diameters ranging from 37 mm to to 47 mm, this is one big, fat, short-ish brush, for blokes with big hands and big faces! The brush is fitted with 30 mm Bodger knot, it needs to break in a bit, so use it a lot and feel the knot transform from a bit scratchy to smooth and soft as snow!
This brush likes to stand up straight, it is way too fat for most stands
