The Joseph Elliot company was manufacturing straight razors as far back as 1790. They were world renowned for the quality and workmanship of their razors. There are lots of discussions around this maker and their blades, and they would certainly be in the top ten makers of any razor aficionado. This is one sexy lump of 'Best silver steel' and it has great appeal to me personally.

The scales were done for, so we used some faux bone scales that were generously donated to us from a customer in the US, we matched the brass pin that was already assembled on the wedge-end after giving the blade a bit of love. The large tang offers jimps top and bottom making it very 'safe' to use.

The razor weighs 97 grams, the sharpened section of the edge is around 66 mm long (we don't focus tt much on the toe and heel with razors of this blade shape). The blade is 21 mm high 13/16, so still a few centuries worth of use left on this beast. The blade has been made free of contamination, sanded and shined, there are some marks left on the blade, but not unsightly as some tend to be.

*Vintage/rat razors are priced according to model and availability, time spent cleaning and reconditioning them, and also time spent getting the edge into a shave ready condition (some are preserved as is, or sold as is for the new owner to sharpen) Please enquire if you need additional work done to this razor prior to purchase.

All straight razors will require a stropping on leather after its first use. Pics are unedited (for detail) and provide a true image of the condition of the razor.

Here is another razor I would not mind NOT getting sold, thus ending up in my bathroom sometime in future.
