This brush was made with specific requirements;
- It was made in a format that matches our DE23 razor in terms of finish, knurling pattern and general apperance as items that are part of a pair/set.
- We wanted a very durable brush that won't degrade over time like the cheaper wood handles do (especially if the wooden handle is turned very thin at the top point where the brush ends and meets up with the wet bristles). For this reason we went with a coated aluminium handle with a synthetic knot.
- We wanted the brush to be of avarage dimesions and weight, although it is quite a bit heavier than most brushes in this size, but we definately wanted a metal brush for durability, and aluminium is the lightest alloy available, resulting in a bit of a trade-off.
- We needed the brush to be affordable, and although our wood and synthetic entry level handles are a lot cheaper, we are still able to offer a sturdy, all metal handle it at a good price point.
- Our 'Bundu' branding adds a bit of identity and bling, and also a touch of exclusivity to your newest aquisition.
We love using it with our pointer finger and thumb on the smooth collar, middle finger on the knurling with the ring finger slipping in underneath the base of the brush, this position allows for some real power strokes if you enjoy a face lathering experience. When bowl lathering we liked all four fingers on the smooth collar pulling it onto the hand where the middle finger starts, this lends to movement using the wrist rather than fingers that will tire quicker when lathering up a bowl of cloudy cream.
The brush weighs 108 grams, and stands 104 mm tall, they are fitted with 20 mm synthetic knots that have a two colour transition from light to dark.
We have a few handles that are still 'bare' with no knot fitted, so if you are looking for a badger or boar knot in one let us know and we can chat about available knots, boar will be offered at the same price. Badgers will start at R390 with a Black badger knot, going up to R690 for the Super and Silvertip options.
