'Bosveld Olyf' is the local version of the beautiful Wild Olive species of wood. It is a great wood to work with, and has an enchanting smell when turned on the lathe. The timber is very stable and will last for years to come.
Dress your brush with any wood cream from time to time. Our natural 'My bliksem' aftershave balm works just as well, apply, leave a few minutes, wipe and buff. Do it as often as you like or as little as you like, but importantly use the brush often for the bristles to stay flexible and supple.
The handle is fitted with a 26 mm boar brush that is ready to work, it is a short and stiff knot, and will 'improve' over the first couple of weeks if used regularly. I prefer for my boar brushes to break in evenly with daily use, but for those of you who have not got the patience for this, have a look here on how to speed up the process. Dimensions are 126 mm tall, a loft of 57 mm, a waist of 25 mm and a belly that measures 38 mm. It weighs 90 grams.
